I have diagnosed sz for around 30 years. I have taken clopixol, I felt safe, never could have guessed I get a relapse like I had a month ago or so. Olanzapine is been added to my medication or changed or I don’t know, it’s difficult to find medication for yourself. Glad I got help. Well, that is what we do in 2021. I remember a life being independent without TV or phone or internet. I am from 1969.

I would say to just be patient and follow your doctors advice. At least they are telling you that you can come off in a year. My pdoc has never given me such hope of getting off. I think in about a year I a may try coming off too though. I’ve been stable for almost 3 years now I think.

If you aren’t dx sz then yes talk to your doc about coming off them slowly! Like slow slow.
I take aps as needed. I took geodon for like 7 weeks in the winter and came off too quick like over 5 days and It sent me into a pretty high anxiety state.

I just want it now… I’ve never been patient.

@Luke83 we all want our lives back , but the thing is to become stable from our problem and try to slowly work back to what we thought or new as normality… Please have patients to get to where you wanna be at once again … this is the only advice I can give since I had a major spell with med changes and other issues.

I guess I don’t understand how you have a diagnosis
of just psychosis.
you don’t have any other symptoms or problems?
psychosis is pretty major, and is attributed to sz, usually.

I’ve had two episodes of psychosis…. One lasting a few weeks the other 6 weeks. Still diagnosed as psychosis.
Feeling better on 5mg Olanzapine. Still have a slight lack of emotion though. Other than that I don’t have any negative symptoms.
Just can’t get over what’s happened and move forward.
