I once had an awful pdoc

he kept hurting and hurting my feelings and cutting me up at every opportunity.

and he threw so many psychiatric labels at me and all were so hurtful.

its been years since he was my pdoc but i haven’t gotten over it.

I’ve had rubbish reports from pdocs as well. But they also had good sides. Those reports made it easy for me to apply for disability.

Always look on the bright side of life.

it’s not easy for me to see the good in life because my memories are so full of abuse (not by my family).

My doctor in hospital told me “you will always be sick and you will never have a normal life” when I was diagnosed with schizophrenia. I was 20 years old.

Those words really hurt me. I was so young, that doc shouldn’t have said that. I thought she was right, that I would never have a normal life. It made me depressed. But I got also angry at her and wanted to prove her wrong. I have gone through schools and I have been to work. My life is pretty much normal and I’m happy. She was wrong. I would like to see her again and tell what I have accomplished.

One pdoc I went to used our entire session to talk about her life. I swear this woman was a full on Karen. “I wanna speak to your manager” haircut and everything. Got even better when a friend of mine wound up also being a patient of her’s and she gossiped about me. TO MY FRIEND.

Remember, some people are really just in this profession to please their parents. This is sadistic as all get out, but I always like to imagine the awkward Christmases said doctor had to spend at home for the holidays with their parents. Is it mean? Yes. Should I get a better coping mechanism? Probably. Does it help ease the pain? Absolutely.

Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant. It can also be frustrating to the person who revived the thread when they don’t get a reply, because the original poster is no longer active or no longer finds the topic relevant. Feel free to start a new thread on this topic.
