I might have to drop out of high school

I might have to drop out because of the way this illness is affecting me at this time, like delusions where I’ll lose insight for hours, hallucinations, and voices telling me to die. Hope I don’t have to buy it might be necessary

If you do, you can take courses to get your diploma. All isn’t lost.

I dropped out and got my GED a little later. Never impacted my work or college.

I’ll probably do home school and get my GED

Ifthat is what you can do, awesome. Moving forward might get slowed at times but remember that every step counts.

I wouldn’t. Being home all day without anything forcing you to get out isn’t ideal. I made the mistake of taking a gap year after high school, and before I got on seroquel, my symptoms kept getting worse, in part because I didn’t have anything to do other than talk to my voices and such. I think it is better to be open with your teachers so they can work with you, even if it means switching to on-level classes or something like that.

I’d try to exhaust options that might let you stay in school like updating meds. If it’s not possible just know that by homeschooling your doing the best you can

I was homeschooled during high school when I started showing symptoms. It was a lot of packet work and reading. I don’t think I could of survived high school

Yeah high school is hard for sure

Don’t feel bad about homeschooling or getting your GED. In the end you achieve the same thing. You can still go to college and you can still get a job. It’s not a bad thing.

That’s the way I try to look at it.

I was homeschooled all the way through high school. It was really good for me. If that’s an option for you, it’s a very good option. Talk to your teachers though. They will be very understanding. You just have to be willing to talk with them.

My parents don’t really want the school to know so that’s why I might be homeschooled.

My nephew was homeschooled.
He is excelling!
