I may end up in the Hospital

Sounds sensible to try and keep things settled. I hope the increase helps.

I find stress to be a massive problem. I hope you can avoid more turmoil in these difficult times

I see. Yes, the same thing happened with my grandpa. When people are cachectic, eating and drinking can be painful because the body has shut down its digestive processes because it’s preparing itself for death. If she asks for food or water, then get her some, but other than that, leave it alone because the body no longer needs food or water. You need sustenance to live, but you don’t need it to die.

No you don’t understand.
Hospice nurses told us that we can no longer feed her or give her water because she is inhaling the food and water to her lungs.
This can cause a painful death or an aspiration pneumonia.

:frowning: so sad…be strong. Best wishes.

Yes, I do understand. Swallowing is part of the digestive process, and it becomes more difficult to swallow when you’re cachectic. The exact same thing happened to my grandpa. Don’t worry though, because cachexia isn’t painful as far as I’m aware. It just happens, and then it’s over. I’m so sorry this is happening to you and your family, @Wave. I won’t lie; it’ll be painful, it’ll suck, but I hope it’ll be okay in the end. Take care of yourself.
