I’m talking to my CPN Monday about coming off medication

I’m getting bills for hundreds of pounds from the NHS buisness people.

I can’t afford this. I’ve had enough.

What kind of meds are costing you? hundreds of dollars? I take generic olanzapine and it only costs like 20 dollars for 3 months supply. May have something to do with policy though. The government picks up most of the cost.

I’m on abilify injection once a month. Qutiapine and sertraline.

Where are you from?

How come you have to pay on the NHS? Do you think you’re ready to come off meds?

I’m trying to understand this too.

I don’t think I’m ready to come off medication. However I e got letters from the NHS buisness beurea for over £200 worth of charges giving me dates when I had to pay and also charges for not paying.

I’m in the UK and I’m on PIP

Hey @Qwerty

I was just asking on here the other day where you had been!

Hope you’re well :slightly_smiling_face:

@Qwerty . I’m not on your system and have no idea about it but I’d imagine there’s an avenue to ask why and if they are appropriate. I’m on a disability pension here and my specialist bulk bills. There should be no charges but occasionally people get a bit silly but it’s usually easily sorted.

There are ways to find out these things and getting bills is no fun but find out why, when and what recourse you have…and if your on a government payout you should have avenues to ease that burden.

Sorry im confused - why are you getting charged from the NHS for the meds? Are you not a british national or something, so they are charging you?

Edit : if your on pip - you should be exempt?

I hope your discussion with the cpn goes well Monday. You may be able to get your prescription on a cheaper scheme, I think they usually offer something where you pay monthly by direct debit and its around £14 per month, no matter what meds you’re on?

I’m not sure why they are charging me. I called them up yesterday but they said they couldn’t help me cause the system was down.

I’m was born here in UK.

I will enquire about this scheme. £14 a month I can afford. But not over £200
