I called in this morning and told the boss I would be 45 minutes late. He asked me how I was feeling and I said OK but not great… so he tells me we’re all caught up at work and just take a paid sick day off and that he’ll see me Wednesday. Great, unexpected surprise. So I had some coupons for KFC and drove by and picked up a three piece meal and now I’m here at the park enjoying my meal.

Always nice to have good relations with your superiors. Now you’ll be inclined to work a bit extra harder in the future, knowing you have a cool and reasonable boss.

Yeah, that’s pretty much true. I used to work a lot harder and faster but now with the bad back and the fatigue I’m a lot slower.
