I hope they never cancel The Simpsons!

Been binge watching from start to finish, I’m on season 25 out of 31. I even stumbled upon an episode I hadn’t seen before.

It’s gargantuan to think they have 700+ episodes. How do you feel about it? Do you like it or do you think they should cancel it? There has been a controversy lately about if voice actors should be allowed to play roles of a different ethnicity, and it has resulted in some recasting. The modern Dr. Hibbert sounds a bit weird, but I don’t mind the change. Not sure what their solution to Apu was.

I’ll watch old episodes if there’s not much else on and I’m wasting some time. Still some classic funny ones worth revisiting.

I love The Simpsons, but they’ve been on a steady decline since Season 10 or so. Wokeness has ruined the show; it’s now a caricature of its former self.

What did you guys think of the Simpson movie?

Love the movie. Not better than the tv series

First 5 seasons or so were definitely the best, pure satire and often kind of dark. It got so silly after that, but I still love it anyway.

My favorite episode (and I have a bunch) is Last Exit to Springfield. It’s the one with the “Dental Plan” joke in it.

I loved the movie, saw it on the big screen when it came out.

I don’t see why a voice actor should worry about having the “right” ethnicity for the role. We’ll be hearing them, not seeing them?

I haven’t seen the last 15 seasons of Simpsons. I like it, but it’s a bit too family friendly sometimes.
And Homer makes me cringe a bit. I’ve been a ‘Marge’ in a relationship with a ‘Homer’, so for me it brings back memories of stress.

I can see how being with someone who has the IQ of a can of baked beans could be stressful. If Homer isn’t making the audience cringe, he’s failing.

It wasn’t the IQ, so much as the complete disregard for the consequences of their actions, their effects on those around them, and any sign of worry or attempt at damage control being met with “omg relax you’re so uptight, it’ll work itself out”

Simpsons… yeah it brings me back to the hospital where my friend and I watched it in the tv room.

The Simpsons is my favorite. Always can cheer me up. My favorite is the monorail episode

I haven’t found the Simpsons funny in 20 years. I can’t believe it’s still being made. I can’t believe that people still watch it.

The blatant disrespect from Bart toward his dad Homer is just appalling. My daughter was never allowed to watch that show.

Spider pig. Spider pig. If he can’t do it nobody can.

I’m finding the humour is getting old. You can only recycle the same joke so many times. Loved the show when it was newer, but there are other things I’d rather do with my time these days.

I prefer South Park and The boondocks. I’ve never found simpsons to be particularly funny.
