I am currently getting along with poeple who have no schizophrenia fine.
They are very motivating and help me get things done, and seem very accepting of me.
I used to be triggered by having to do normal things everybody does but now it is not so bad.
I see no difference between poeple who dont have scizophrenia and those who do. All are opinionated, want things done, will defend themselves verbally, like positive things.
I just wish they moved faster at work. Hate having to wait for them to finish with socializing so I can get them back on task and get work done. We don’t get paid to socialize. Save that for when work is done.
i would get in trouble for letting other people come talk to me while i was working… not because i was falling behind… i would still be working while they were talking…i would get in trouble for them getting behind and not just sending them away lol…
Yes as I come out of a 4 or going on 5 year relapse I hope it continues but I know there is a lot of stress in life but the support and acceptance from all poeple can be a way to deal with stress.
Ive noticed recently that what makes me think normies are a##holes are my schizophenic symptoms. I believe they are reacting to my energy and vibes and beliefs, and have my mind taken over to only be able to focus on them.
I have the same voices and mind control about poeple who are schizophrenic or normal.
My schizophernic symptoms are of normies and schizophrenics the same.
Well, I agree with most of this. Its “a truth” in dealing with most other people. We “get back what we put out”.
What I mean is that I believe I’m a nice guy, a caring brother and son, a smart funny guy. But if I am standing on a busy street corner dressed in jeans caked with grime and a torn shirt, screaming angrily at cars and strangers, then people are going to either get angry back or be afraid of me. (neither of which I want by the way). So yes, people have an innate reaction to someone displaying symptoms.
Maybe I did not quite understand your point fully but I understand that while I have been fighting to be treated as equal with my paranoid schizophrenia, what do I expect the average Joe working in a restaurant is going to do or what he’s going to think if I don’t look him in the eye when I order and my friendly smile comes a shade to late? I don’t want to depress people reading this but if most people here were working in a restaurant before they got sick and some guy like me walks in a little agitated and not aware of his surroundings (rarely though) with his friend who is laughing to himself. Then I think most of us before we got sick, would have laughed at them or ignored them and just treated them differently.
We were once “normies”. Before we got sick ourselves, schizophrenia and mental illness were not on our radar. We probably knew very little about it except for the crazy uncle who no one in the family talked about. We were busy partying and all the other crap that goes along with being a kid. This kind of explains where “normies” are coming from. Its inexcusable to be mean or rude to someone struggling with mental illness but the world is not always a nice place and it happens.
