In real life, I know my mother loved me. I did not know that before. Now I can bolster my depression with “Mother loved me.” and know it’s not just something someone told me. I can feel myself being her, loving me and loving life. It makes sense. Part of my struggle was being confused by my adopted brother who had a lot of doubt and depression about the fact that his mother gave him up. But my mother loved him, too.
