As a matter of fact, I might call myself a stranger. We learn who we are by trail and error. Sometimes that process gets interrupted by the errors being made a big thing of. Shrug them off, mateys .Life goes on with or without us.
That’s something I noticed as well while I was in hospital. Life goes on with or without us.
As the great George Harrison said:
Try to realise it’s all within yourself
No one else can make you change
And to see you’re really only very small
And life flows on within you and without you
Thats a good point. Life goes on with or without us. So do the things you want to do and that make you happy.
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don’t know we don’t know.
Excellent point
My self is stranger to me too.
This ego with its desires and thoughts
and impressions, is not me
How do you know?

Good advice! My 2 cents is:
To know yourself, listen to yourself.
@san_pedro point is good. My advice is to - only take risk of known unknown in your life. And don’t go for unknown, unknown.
I look in the mirror and I don’t recognize myself like I did before schizophrenia
I never feel alone and I feel like I’m sharing my life with old friends that can read my thoughts
I see dark pictures and I feel lost as well
I don’t know myself very well either. But I know about the outside World even less so.
