On my new E-terra Sodastream soda maker they give you a carbonating bottle to fill with water and hook up to the machine and then a tube sticks into the water and carbonates the water at the press of a button. There’s two lines on the carbonating bottle near the top and I was pretty sure the bottom line is where you fill the water to and the line above it is where you fill it with flavoring to. I asked ChatGPT and they said the opposite. I said are you sure and it said yes. I said that doesn’t make sense and argued with it until it finally agreed with me that you fill it with water to the bottom line. It’s the only way that makes sense.

Yet another reason chat gpt is not a reliable source. It can come up with words, but it can’t understand them

My mom kept referencing internet directions and I had to look at the phone and tell her “that’s an AI response, you can’t trust it” when we were trying to figure out how to stop the beeping after replacing a smoke alarm battery yesterday.
I’m not saying the technology is not impressive, I just think it’s nowhere near advanced enough to behave as advertised yet.

I asked chat GPT for some figures
It gave them to me
Then I questioned it how it came to those numbers and it was not acceptable to me
Coding and general factual stuff not so bad, but I would not trust it in how it makes assumptions
