I am sick. It never really ends

Of life and actually physically sick. I’m in pain. I am not thinking clearly. I’m thankful my daughter decided to stay the night. I feel comforted by her presence. And I won’t do anything bad if she is with me. My stomach hurts almost as much as my teeth. I think it hurts because of the codeine I take for my teeth.

Life isn’t great. I’m just really too exhausted to care.

Maybe you have sensitive teeth @FatMama, have you tried Sensodyne toothpaste?

Yes but this is way beyond sensitive teeth. I have several teeth broken almost passed the gum line. My nerves are exposed. I just can’t afford the dentist right now and my dentist retired.

It hurts continuously.

Oh, wow. That feels painful from reading that.

I just did a quick google search; have you tried rinsing with saline water?

I do at least once every hour. It is minimally effective. My gums are very swollen.

Ahh, I hope you find something to rid the pain. That’s not pleasant. Try searching something on google, maybe you’ll find better relief.

I’m sorry, @FatMama, constant pain is hard to cope with. They say toothaches are one of the worst kinds of pain. I have pretty bad chronic pain, but toothaches are definitely worse. I’m sorry it’s lasted so long.

Are you taking the codine on an empty stomach? If so, you could cause yourself more problems. Could you try crushing up and crackers and mixing it in with both and drinking it before you take your meds? Will help the stomach ache some of that’s what’s causing it. And, bonus, no chewing.

Taking it with milk seems to be a bit helpful

Also with pain here. I am sorry that you are going through this as well… pain is so so tough.
Please hang in there. Do you see a pain specialist?

God if the nerves are exposed that is painful! I would sell stuff on eBay or even my plasma to get money to go to the dentist! I couldn’t live in that kind of pain.

What’s the situation with the dental coverage in Canada? I pay $15 a month for dental insurance in the USA and it’s good coverage. Is there anyway you could set up a payment plan with a dentist?

I see my doc. And hopefully soon a dentist

No one will give me credit. My last mania destroyed that

It is pretty awful

I know in Alberta they will remove teeth under cost of health care if they pose imminent risk to health. You’re definitely in that situation. I would see your doctor about it and also your health advocate or aide. They may be able to get a special funds allocation.

I’ll check it out

Hey, borrow the money if you have to, untreated dental problems are not going to go away, they will just get unimaginably worse and more expensive the longer you wait to fix them. Like the saying goes, it can always be worse, and the pain may already be unbearable but it still can get worse.

I’m hoping to be able to get all my teeth pulled and eventually get dentures. Half my teeth are already gone. What’s left are a lot of broken teeth. My face on one side is swollen all the way up to my eye. I know I need to get the worst ones pulled for now

Do you have a dental college near you? They do dental work for free or for little money. Hell, go to a dental college in another state if that’s what it takes.
