It is a depressive time of the year, I might want to get winter tires for my bicycle so that I could also ride my bicycle when bicycle paths are frozen. I know I am alone at this Christmas as I have always been, it is depressive. Also this dark season increases my depression.

I hear you. I treat it just like any other day. The only bonus is the Tv is better sometimes. If i wallowed on the fact i wont be seeing my Daughter, i would be as miserable as sin.
I will just stock up on food and eat like a pig in my PJs’ over Xmas. My brother has his own family - and in all honesty id rather be on my own anyway.
Just dont take it too seriously, i know its hard, but its just a couple of days.

I hate Christmas. I’m sick of hearing Christmas carols and they start playing them in stores before Halloween. I don’t like the phoney bologna sentimentality or the consumerism.

I won’t get to see my child for Christmas either. spending time with him was the only thing about the holiday that I used to like.

Im sorry to hear that. Just try and not let it get to you too much… Try and put some emotional distance between you and your son and how your feeling. Focus on your mental health well-being. Cant you send a card? Or maybe you can wrap a present for him for a later date?
Since I got ill I have spent the majority of christmas days on my own. Prefer it that way
Yes xmas is depressing. Jesus is not coming back after 2000 years and the bible was written when people believed the earth is flat. Its just a giant marketing gig.

Christmas will be me and parents eating mince pie and turkey watching Christmas dinner hoping the new year might be brighter

It’s thinking about what to get food and drink wise that always stresses me over the Christmas period . Hopefully , like last year, my stepdaughter will do the Christmas shop for me .

Treat yourself to a nice meal and try not to make a big thing out of it.
Christmas is only really for kids and their presents anyway.
It’s really a marketing scam to get people to spend money.
Capitalism has far more to do with it than religion for a lot of people, and it forces you to spend money frivolously.
In Belgium you get your disability money early in December so that you can spend, spend, spend.
Personally I don’t like socializing with family over the holidays.
I also feel depressed like ‘wow another year of sadness and dispointment’ as much as I love my family I still feel like an outsider.
its the only thing i have to look forward to, it keeps my spirits up and then new years celebration is like the cream on top, i’m sorry you dont like it, i wish you all the best anyway, be careful on your bike and wrap up warm

I got already one Christmas gift, my mother made and gave me four pairs of wool socks. She has made many socks, I have over 10 pairs of wool socks.

My partner bought me an ecigarette. I got a powervapor. Sometimes i need to cough badly from smoking it, cause i got lungdisease.
I got some Christmas candies today.
Great idea. I get my partner a nice candle. She loves candles. I am so forgetful.
I do not get many gifts at Christmas, I’ll probably buy something for myself. I got new winter boots a couple of days ago, now I can walk without any problems although bicycle and walk paths are frozen.
