Hygiene and sz

i just bathed and showered and i feel good :slight_smile: havent done for a while so glad i did it (i was getting smelly) i need a shave but i will do that later as i dont have my gel here, i also want to brush my teeth bc i had a drink last night and then some veg pakora and my breath and mouth was very bad this morning but i havent got a tooth brush.

I always use the good ol’ trusty toothpaste on finger trick. Not ideal but works in a pinch.

i brush my teeth about once a month and i am forever spitting out blood after i do it lol, my dental hygiene is bad and i probably need work done although its not noticeable, idk if doing that finger trick will do anything except give me a minty taste in my mouth lol, i really need a brush and i need to take more care of my teeth.

Sometimes i cant stand to see myself in the mirror, but then occasionally i cant help but to look at the sexy mofo staring back at me. Not sure whats up with that.

I also get horribly bad brushing habits at times, forgetting or avoiding for waaaay too long. My mom is from thailand where they didnt have toothbrushes growing up so proper tooth care habits werent instilled in me when young as they probably should have been. My dad is bipolar and goes long times without showering also. I think i just didnt have proper hygiene role models growing up.

What my dentist told me once is that when without a brush, use the finger trick but get the area where the teeth meet the gums. That is where the most bacteria build up. I let my teeth go for numerous years and then had to spend thousands on repairs. I was in the dentists probably once every two weeks for almost 2 years. Now after all that im back to bad habits and not brushing. Not sure why i avoid it but i also need to remedy my situation.

it is hard though isnt it, getting that routine, i am not very good with routine tbh, i think it takes practice lol, but i honestly think if they made the tooth paste taste a bit better then i would brush more, like maybe a sweeter flavour with aspertame sweeteners or something idk (someone get the copyright and send me a cheque please) lol jk oops i meant patent haha

Yeah the routine is difficult, especially since im not working so i dont have that preperation ritual in the morning anymore. My biggest issue i think is it makes my coffee taste like minty boiled crap all morning so constantly put it off when i actually do remember that i should. So then im drinking tons of coffee and not brushing, also rating candy before bed as i always get a severe sweet tooth when my night meds kick in. Probably all the worst things you could do and i combine them all. What a dushe i am sometimes!! Lol

Hey thanks @mortimermouse the video was very informative.
My Negatives have improved some, especially Avolition - lack of Motivation.
I find that I am taking showers more often - every other day or so.

Motivating myself to brush my teeth is a bit more difficult for me for some reason.
Anhedonia - is still a bit of a problem for me, but this has also improved a bit.

My big issue is that I do not function well when interacting with other people.
Lots of anxiety and paranoia in social settings.

well, to be honest, I bet some of your motivation is coming back because you are on no D antagonist

glad you enjoyed the video- it is part of a 14-video series, all a few minutes each- I would give them all a shot- very good material in my opinion, I took notes and keep them on my desk when I am on here (meds are a lot to keep straight)

Ditto for me. I can get pretty bad about it.

I’m the opposite. I love to organize things around me, but being too hygienic makes me depressed. It’s so much effort for something that has to be done again shortly anyway. Sometimes I’ll just stand in the shower and rinse off. It’s painful some days.

Sometimes one can find new tooth brushes in second hand shops to a cheaper than normal price yet they are still brand new.

Maybe you should visit a dentist or hygienist and if you cant affor it maybe save up for it.
Or maybe start with buying mouth wash and just rinse your mouth with it.
Its important to care for your teeth and oral hygiene.
Not doing so can actually cause heart problems ive been told.

Please do try taking care.
Drinking milk might do you good.

You might be more open to miswak root or gum or a tablet.

Ive never heard of a finger trick.

Maybe you can test your way with different teeth and gum care products and see what you feel comfortable with.
If not you should consult with dentist or hygienst or even dr and perhaps forse your self to clean and care for your teeth more so.

I really have bad hygiene problems. I can go months without doing anything to myself. The only time I take a bath or shower is when my mom tells me to. I need to improve. Especially being female. :expressionless:
