How about you ?
It was pretty sunny n warm yesterday for first time in ages.
Today it’s gone back to grey.
Spring is my favorite season! It’s been rainy and around 7 Celsius during the day here but I managed to go on a hike today which was fun.
Do you have to use that cold weather payment for your electricity bill/ natural gas, depending on how you heat your home?
No you can use it for anything. Extra £25 in your bank. We have only had one this year.
Are they making an extra effort to help people pay their bills with explosive energy prices?
Yeah. People on benefits got an extra payment of £900 last year called cost of living payment. And we are getting an extra payment of £1200 this year. I’m using mine for my vacation as I’ve not really noticed a cost of living increase, maybe slightly. I live in a group home so my bills are cheap because they are slept 4 ways with other group home residents.
£28000 is a teacher starter salary.
I wouldn’t call it low either, nor high.
That’s smart that they are targeting the people on benefits. Here everyone gets an indexation of salary and a discount on the energy bill.
Nice, but very costly since everyone is getting it. Apparently Belgium is not yet bankrupt.
We all know @bobbilly gets a nice amount of benefits. He has stated it before.
He gets more than me too.
My community nurse who filled in the forms was honest and accurate and this is what the benefits people awarded me. There must be thousands of other people claiming similar in the UK. I know other group home residents who claim same as me as they enjoy decent lives too. One of them is going to Australia next month for 3 weeks holiday.
I know @Jonathan2, he really does and I’m happy for him.
It’s just I personally wouldn’t call it low either.
Just my opinion. I think he has an OK amount.
Ofcourse @bobbilly is allowed to think it is low, I just personally don’t think it is low.
That’s just me though. Hope I’m allowed to say that. Idk anymore
I actually need to request permission to leave the EU. I’m going to London in March for my degree ceremony and I had to file a request to go to the UK (since Brexit). Luckily it got approved.
As off next year UK passport holders will need a visa to travel to the EU.
It’s not low. I agree. I’ve seen jobs advertised in the UK with £18K starting salaries (a few years ago).
We are allowed to travel anywhere in the world but no more then 28 days if you are on benefits.
It’s weirdly cloudy here but it’s also really nice outside in the mid 70s uwu I wish I could still go for walks
