I recently switched my phone off and on again (rebooted). But it has been months since I did that .
So I was curious and did a search about how often it should be done.
The answer/ consensus seems to be to do it once a week for both Android and iPhone.
Here’s the answer for android from bing:
The frequency of rebooting your phone depends on various factors, such as the phone model, usage, and software updates. However, a general recommendation is to restart your Android phone at least once a week. Doing so helps in several ways:
- Clearing out lingering app processes or memory leaks: Restarting ensures that any misbehaving apps or memory leaks are addressed, which can help prevent slowdowns and glitches¹².
- Preventing overheating: Regular reboots can help maintain optimal performance and prolong battery life.
So, consider taking a minute each week to restart your phone—it’s a small effort that can make a big difference!
