How Dr. Phil Bastardized the Mental Health Profession

When Dr. Phil aired his interview with actress, Shelley Duvall, he reduced himself to Phil McGraw, showman, and exploiter of those he is ethically bound to protect. Considering we live in a nation in which showmen become president, it makes sense he would want to join the fray.

McGraw conducted his interview under the guise of assisting a woman with an untreated mental illness. A person need not work with the mentally ill population to recognize he crossed the exploitation line and ventured into a morose land inhabited by the likes of Howard Stern. In truth, if his intention was to help Ms. Duvall with her struggles against paranoid delusions and hallucinations, his intervention could just as easily have happened off screen. Instead, he did everything he could to perpetuate stigma meant to classify the mentally ill as sideshow freaks.

Like I said before, Dr Phil is a Fraud
All he cares about is profits, fame, power and ratings.

I don’t bother watching his show.

He has a history of exploiting and stigmatizing those people suffering with a severe mental illness.

I have nothing positive to say about him.

Dr Phil is a D-bag. It just goes to show where our country is heading when a guy like that becomes popular. He only appeals to the ignorant lower classes that can’t afford a real doctors opinion. The same people that stampede Walmart on Black Friday. He’s no different than Jerry Springer or Geraldo Rivera he just has a dr before his name.
Pure garbage television
