In normal people’s lives they choose to ignore a lot of things they already have made up Minds to where they only concentrate on the things that they are working on and therefore don’t except those bad things that are going on in the world
My wife eats anti-depressants out of a PEZ dispenser. She also bakes high calorie food items that neither of us should be eating and watches trash TV like Dr. Pol.
My current math class requires regular group zoom meetings to collaborate on assignments. A couple of days before the first zoom meeting, the teacher made a contract with a short list of several statements we had to read over and click on a button to agree with. They were varied statements like ‘we’ll help each other’, ‘we’ll commit to finishing the entire course’, ‘we’ll be polite and support each other’, ‘we will commit to having a positive attitude’ and ‘we will commit to helping each other over the online platform’. In Part 2 of the survey she asked which statement we will have the hardest time with. I was the second person (out of 41 students) to answer and we could all see each others answers. I answered, "I will have the hardest time with the zoom meetings.
I said I don’t like zoom meetings and I prefer to work by myself anonymously but I will do the meetings because I have to." Well, since I was the first one to answer, everybody saw my answer. And I was totally surprised when almost every other student answered that they don’t like zoom meetings either! And some people said they were shy, and some agreed they didn’t like groups either, and that zoom meetings are difficult to get used to. I was shocked that so many of the “normies” had the same problems I did with zoom. It eased my fears a little bit and I think it will help me to do the meetings. BUT they are normies after all and I’m sure that they will fake that they like it a lot better than me
I firmly believe that normies don’t exist. We are all on a spectrum of having issues, messed up in one way or another. I am done being jealous of someone else because I perceive them as a normie, when I have no idea what’s going on in their head or life.
They may not exist. But with everything going on in life, how can anyone achieve being normal?
It’s more of a case that the people with the blinkers on to all this stuff just makes me wonder how on earth they live carefree with everything going on
Maybe they don’t care about the news? Or have no responsibilities ?
I have met absolutely zero people who live carefree. You have to define normal to try and fit someone into the box of normal, and by most definitions hardly anyone would be considered normal. We all deal with stress, health issues, money issues, job issues, family issues, relationship issues, and anything else you can think of. To be normal is to not be carefree.
I personally have always had a conflated idea that one day I may achieve normality, but it doesn’t exist the way many think it does. There’s always something to stress about.
