@Bowens, @Moonbeam, @Ninjastar. Why is it so hard? I want to settle this once and for all. I want to know exactly how to send a PM. I go to messages. I click on “new message”. I see a small envelope symbol that says “start new message” to the right of it. I see “add new users and groups” below the envelope symbol, I see where the title goes and the body of the PM. And I see at the bottom what to click on to send it. But what do I do to address it to a member? When I click on “add new members and groups” nothing happens and the writing stays there. I know how to title it, write the message and I see the button where to send it but I can’t figure out how to address it to a specific member. What am I doing wrong?
Just click on the avatar of the one you want to pm. Then hit message.

But why can’t I create a new message from scratch and address it to someone instead of searching all over for someones avatar?
You have to select a user to ensure the correct recipient
Well, my “add new users and groups” function must be broken because I click on the words and the little + and nothing happens, I can’t enter a new user.
That’s what I’m having problems with.
The other method is what @PinCushion mentioned. Click on the users avatar and then when their profile pops up, click on new message and the PM is automatically addressed to that user
Yeah, I’m able to do that but about when I have someone in mind that I want to PM, why can’t I just start from scratch and compose a message and address it to them?

yea it is kind of a difficult process
If you have this issue with specific users, it could be because they have private messaging turned off.

I think it’s my browser. I think the problem is with safari.

Just click on the top right Search Magnifying Glass…search for the person’s name…then when their avatar comes up, just click on the Message Button on the top right.
I use the safari browser too. I click add user. Then I have to click below add user and then start typing the name.
