I see post where people have sections of articles neatly sectioned out and quoted in the description so people don’t have to actually click the link. How do I do that?

Both of these are just simple copy/paste used with 2 function in the reply options.
The first is “preformatted text” and the second is “blockquote”

The first one I keep getting block rather then the pre formatted text

I think your deleting too much. You need to leave the >

remove the “blockquote” but leave the greater than symbol.
