How Accurately Is Schizophrenia Portrayed in Movies?

That was a good read. I think it is difficult to accurately portray schizophrenia in movies partly because it seems to be a case by case type of illness. Many of us have similar delusions but they are still different experiences. It would be difficult to show something like full blown psychosis.

Not very accurately.
I thought that schizophrenia was portrayed pretty accurately in the movie Elizabeth Blue.

I haven’t seen many of these movies and I hate to be snarky but does the author of this article have schizophrenia? I’m just jealous because I would love to be an accomplished writer and be considered a mental health expert. I am schizoaffective and not a mental health expert. I have a lot to learn about my own diagnosis! Ugh!

I think the movie Clean, Shaven is an accurate portrayal of schizophrenia.

The full movie is available on YouTube (type: clean, shaven full movie).

depends if it is fact or fiction, tbh i cant relate to them most of the time, i hate those depressing films about illness, i want something to cheer me up, i dont like being dragged into that world again, give me a good cartoon, i want to laugh, i want to be entertained, thats if i ever get around to watching anything again lol.
