Hopes dashed about the painting commission

Angie’s wealthy sister said she would pay for supplies and postage if I painted her something when I said on facebook that I was through painting…Angie’s sister is a cancer survivor and having health problems so I felt obliged to do the painting but later as I posted I got hopeful.

well, this morning she contacted me by text and said she can get it a lot cheaper if her daughterr does the painting in a wine and canvas event she attends once in a while…so she said she was going to get the painting done that way…first of all…I’m angry because she was the one who offered the painting…and second of all…the photo she wants painted is very detailed and her daughter can 't possibly do as well as me since she has to cram the whole painting into a couple of hours…I was going to spend weeks on it…oh well…I’m hurt.

sorry for all the bummer posts…I guess everyone is tired of me.

I will admit that I don’t entirely understand what happened, but still I’m sorry. It sucks when people do things that end up hurting us.

why not do it anyway and say you can compare paintings to see which is best, if she doesn’t buy it then you could find another buyer if it is good enough

I would be hurt too. I often do paintings, charcoal portraits, only to find that they expect it for free. After i’ve done it. Same with tattoos. You would think, that people who are not artistically inclined could, i don’t know, be respectful sometimes maybe and value the effort and time put in. That would be nice. Sorry to hear that though. people suck sometimes. It’s always about money

No not tired of you at all. I’ve just been a bit busier than usual… I just hope I’m not thought by any as If I am ignoring anyone as well. Just been busy.
