In my natal country temps were 45-50C sometimes. I lost consciousness and fell from heat many times there.

That is bloody hot. We get the odd 40 and that is bad but another 10 degrees C on that is madness.

My friends mom, drove us the length of Death Valley in a VW Beetle when I was in sixth grade.
The article doesn’t mention that you can be in sweltering heat on the valley floor but you can make a 30 minute drive into some hills and there’s snow on the ground.
