Help with Social Security name change due to marriage

For married women & married gay people, does your marriage certificate have just your maiden name? Did Social Security change your name using your husband’s last name, even though just your maiden name was on your marriage certificate? How did it work with Social Security? According to what I’ve read Social Security is the first place you change your name. What was the required documents? Thanks for your help.

I changed my driver license first, then my social. Social Security is really easy. You just need your marriage certificate if they ask. They put whatever you choose, keeping your maiden or changing.
