Help my doctor is increasing my dose

Someone help me to see why my doctors is prescribing these medications:

He wants me to take 100 mg invega sustenna monthly and also to take a 6 mg invega sustenna pill each day.

These medications he told me should be taken for 3 months.

Should I just change doctor or just not take 6 mg pills without telling him?

Ask him to explain?

Depends on symptoms. Do you still have positive symptoms.

Do you believe everyone is out to get you?

Do you think everyone is talking about you or to you?

You should do as your doctor prescribes. He’s a doctor, he had experience with what treats people with what sickness.
Try it out. The first few weeks will be rough as you’re adjusting, but who knows, you might just feel better. You’ve got nothing to lose

I dont think you should always blindly follow doctors. I genuinely think you should talk about it. He needs to tell you why he does things. In the end it is your body. He knows about meds, yoj know what you feel and think. You should be a team.

What were you on before?

invega sustenna 150mg

@jga
What are your concerns with the med change?

It’s a little odd that he is doing pills and injection, I think talking about it is a good idea.

Very high dosage is my concern

I am thinking just not to take the pills because the 100 mg injection is enough

or just take 1 mg invega per day no more than that

@jga
Did you tell your doctor you didn’t want to take it?

That’s not a very high dose. I take 234 mg a month and I feel better now than I did on 156.

When i was on invega I was extremely paranoid and anxious more so after taking the meds. I was on 234 mg of invega injection then 18 mgs of pills at the same time.

If it were me i would ask him why im to take an injection and oral dose of the same med. you should be honest about what you feel. You dont mention why you dont want to take the extra oral pills, so i cant really do more than guess as to why this is. So whatever reason it is that you dont want to take the oral meds, you need to be upfront about it. They cant force you to take meds, at least where i live they dont force you to take meds unless you are behaving in a way that implies a danger to others or yourself. Thus you should be open with your pdoc and tell them what you want.

I would talk to the pdoc about it. I don’t think simply not taking the pills is a good idea. Your pdoc has more experience than you and probably has a good reason for prescribing that dosage.

I think it’s ok. For example I’m on Abilify Maintena 400 (one injection every month) and I take a 10 mg pill of Abilify every morning.
