Heart defect because of meds

I now have a heart defect because of the frigging meds, it’s called qt prolongation. I’m going to tell my pcdoc that I want off these shitty meds. I don’t care what it does to me.

ah i am on the verge of qt prolongation too… they said i have to let them keep an eye on it… i was just on the verge of it last time they did an ECG but since last psych ward where they found out about it i haven’t had my heart tested anymore =/

Yeah if you have prolonged QT you should have your meds changed immediately.

What meds are you on? I read that Latuda causes the least heart problems and the least metabolic side effects, less than Abilify.

Just change med.

I had to lower my dose of clozapine because of tachycardia. Things like that happen on these meds.

all antisycotic meds do that.they damage the heart.

There are still very big differences in the probability of heart side effects between them. (For example Haldol and Fanapt are much more likely to cause problems than Abilify or Quetiapine).

I take Invega, I think that it’s causing my problem.

52 years and counting with a bad heart. Take away my head meds and I crash big time within six months. Some problems you can live with easier than others.

Haldol and fanapt should never be used together. I had blood pressure problems in the ward with those two.

I forgot all about qt prolongation, I read about it 5 years ago when I started taking invega, and I had tachycardia for a couple years but now my resting heartbeat is 60bpm. I have a smartwatch that monitors my pulse, but I think there are better ones on the market like the apple watch that can detect irregular heartbeats and things like that. Might be worth getting if you stay on the medicine.
