Health concern

Lol sorry for the weird title but i honestly need some help. I’ve been having a decent amount of blood in my stool for the past like 10 days and its not stopping. I’ve heard that its pretty common and might just be fissures or whatever. Any tips on how I can make it stop? (p.s. i know i should go to the doctor but im procrastinating so besides that)

Ive tried eating fiber and drinking more water and it stopped for a day. Just wondering if anyone has any other tips assuming its just fissures or something.

Thanks

Think u should get it checked out if its nonstop for 10 days mate.

Yo,

I think you should not procrastinate about seeing your doctor.

In case it’s serious.

The earlier the treatment the better the chances of smooth recovery, if it’s serious.

You’re welcome, good luck with the doctor appointment.

They will probably know what it is

The doctor will probably recommend a colonoscopy just to make sure there aren’t any ulcers in your intestine. Most likely it may be hemorrhoids.

I had a similar problem recently. In my case it turned out to be something called diverculitis. To be honest I haven’t even researched it much. The doctor said usually they do a colonoscopy when there is blood in the stool just to make sure there aren’t any stomach ulcers which can be deadly. He mentioned the most common result is hemorrhoids. I forgot exactly what they are but something along the lines of burst blood vessels in the rectum.

I don’t remember what diverculitis is right now. I think it has something to do with inflammation of an intestinal tract. Don’t remember.

Do you feel constipation?

thanks a lot, i appreciate the info. No constipation fortunately. Its bright red so most likely not stomach ulcers again fortunately.

Hmm it can also be a tear in the stomach lining. I’m no doctor but it’s good that you decided to get it checked out. Those type of things can be a little embarrassing. Hopefully, it isn’t anything too serious health wise.

i think stomach ulcers would actually hurt aswell, that might be another tell tale sign.

if it was an ulcer, i think

thanks! yea hopefully its nothing just unsettling and uncomfortable really haha I think the cuts become infected or atleast let bacteria etc into the bloodstream or something because usually i start to feel kinda sick because of it like i have a cold. Anyways thanks again for the help means a lot. Im gonna try to eat like a ton of fiber and drinks today and see a doc when i can.

If it’s bright red then the blood is coming from lower in the digestive tract. Probably fissures or hemorrhoids. Especially since it stopped with fiber and hydration.

Until you go to a doctor, I’d recommend buying some Metimucil and drinking more. But I wouldn’t put off the visit.
