Having hope is key to happiness

I was without hope early in my recovery from sz…there were two suicide attempts before I was put on a different a p and got hope from that that it built up into the happiness I have today…if you are without hope, you can start building hope in small things…flowers in the yard, a good cup of coffee…things like that…good luck…

Yea … without hope it’s just hard as hell. I’m starting to have hope about some things but I still don’t see a way out of my situation ATM. I guess I find hope in the fact that I will always have moments of peace and happiness even if I live with major issues.

I agree, hope and gratitude for little things…

My first doctors took my hope and left me a suicidal wreck. It was a sponsor in AA who gave it back to me and who motivated me to fight for recovery. That was the turning point where I was able to get my life back.

I struggle with having hope. I don’t feel I get any peace or happiness in the moment. I’m just always restless. I’m hoping this changes in the future

Hope is one key to happiness. Gratitude is another big one.

You have to decide you want things to change. Recovery does not fall out of the sky and bonk you on the head. You have to chase it, grab it, and hang onto that mutha for dear life. It is the only thing I have seen that works for us.

Thanks @jukebox im trying I’m kinda having a bad day but Im pretty sure I can get through this

Well I’m going to the gym regularly now, I’m meditating everyday, I’m making those changes but still whenever I go out to a gig, my anxiety plays up and I feel terrible. Its been happening all the time and I want that to change. I’m going to ask if I can get cbt again for this problem tomorrow at my care co appointment.

Cbt can be good if it works for you
Hope is good when things are rough sometimes
I’m just getting by and trying to accept things for what they are
