Have you used or got a bread maker? I'm thinking about getting one/making my own bread

Gabby one of my support staff makes excellent bread in her 20 year old bread maker, today we ate a bacon and cheese loaf with cream cheese and it was excellent, I really like it when she brings me food, she says I’m the only person who tires her food she brings and she likes my feedback, she is a good cook and baker. I also cook her meals when she’s on sleep for the group home. Am thinking about getting a bread maker myself, do you have one? What’s your favourite bread to make?

You can’t just chuck it in, you gotta mix it properly and it lasts a lot less than the supermarkets, cos usually it ain’t got no preservatives in it.

LOL. I do this all the time. I just measure in the stuff, close the lid, hit the button. Bam! Bread. I make white and brown. Sometimes I just have it knead the dough for me and then bake it in the oven in a loaf pan. Mine is an old General Electric I got for $10 at the thrift store. Works like a champ.

I have never done that. Never.

There’s something fun for you to try. I made some last week and we ate the whole loaf in one go with salad. We dipped the bread in tuscan herb olive oil and mission fig balsamic vinegar.

Nice mate. Maybe I will dig mine out x

My Nan had one for a long time

She used to buy a pepperami mix to put in so it was a little spicy

I had a bread machine about 25 years ago. I loved it, used it all the time.

Until one day it vibrated and rocked itself off my kitchen countertop and slammed to the floor, breaking it.

You need to be careful because those machines, as they are needing the bread dough, move a bit.

I probably had the machine too close to the edge of the countertop that day.

Anyway, after that experience, I learned how to make bread without the machine. I kneaded the dough in my Kitchen Aid mixer using the dough hook and my bread always came out better than with the machine, because the machine leaves a huge dough hook inside the bread as it bakes in the machine. You get stuck with a hole in your loaf after pulling the hook out of it.

I miss bread.

Yeah, I think I have one.

Don’t remember which brand though.

Homemade bread is yum.

Enough Christmas :christmas_tree:

I make bread in my oven without a bread maker.

My favorite bread I make is my apple cinnamon bread. It’s super yummy.

I can’t eat it anymore because I can’t eat dairy or gluten, but I’ve considered coming up with a gluten & dairy free version.
