You can get the exact same things on Amazon for more. So where do I go?
Call me paranoid, but I wouldn’t trust Temu.
I know but I’ve bought stuff from there before.
Ok maybe it’s not the best idea , it’s all coming from Temu from Amazon though right ? I’m not sure.
Temu seems legit, I know people who have bought stuff from there before, but it still makes me itch, kinda like AliBaba.
I’ve ordered from them and did not regret it. You have to check the reviews for everything, same for Amazon though.
I trust Temu… have ordered so many things from them… all good quality
It’s so cheap that I worry it’s made in sweat shops by young children working long hours without breaks
I buy from them. The things are good quality. And no matter what you buy from China is going to be made in dubious conditions
its basically the same as wish but they use borderline scam tactics like making ads that you can get a nintendo switch for $7, etc. also the prices are not much better than what youd find from any other chinese vendor like aliexpress for example, they just have a more rewarding feeling app layout
Bought a few cute shirts but not sure I’ll ever buy again. It’s controversial I guess to like it or not. There’s long posts on Facebook and other media about avoiding it so people get heated .
I think there’s probably a lot of knock off stuff on the site. If you’re okay with that I think it’s fine.
I ignore it and wish I wouldn’t get ads for it. Grrr.
It’s a well known Chinese run company. I wouldn’t knock their products. I order from them very frequently. I buy a lot of Asian products from them. Their products are designed to save space and organize for small living spaces, as most Asian homes are small. They have so many clever space savers and unique items.
The profit also goes directly to the people. I mean other Asian countries order from them. To them it is not foreign.
I just find it funny that people are suspicious of ordering from Asian organizations, as they think they are illegal or somehow harming them, as the consumers.
Temu gives me the weirdest freaking ads, I keep trying to disable them but they just keep popping up. There’s this thing that looks like some sort of butt plug, but might also be a cleaning untensil, I can’t tell. There was also a baby’s onesie that was nothing but tentacles, like you’re having your baby cosplay as a tentacle demon, and also a strap-on hairy prosthetic man gut, presumably for trans folks?
I have no problem with any of this stuff but it’s weird as hell that it pops up unprovoked and does not reflect my search history lol.
I order from Asian companies regularly. But my concern with Temu is how insanely cheap it is. It’s like Wish. They make me wonder if it’s forced labor so they can sell the products super cheap.
That said, there’s no proof of it being forced labor so I might check them out. There’s a dress I really want on Temu, but I’ll have to lose about 20 pounds to wear the biggest size they have for that particular dress.
I’m really sorry @anon55031185 if I hurt your feelings or anyone else’s feelings.
If I’m honest with you , I ordered a bag from there and it had a really strong toxic kind of odour. Maybe it’s different for every shop and you won’t get that but the fabric stuff I ordered did.
China really has no reason to force labor. Asian work ethic is a lot different than ours, they spend more time working for their families.
China has labor laws and enforce them.
@ZombieMombie Ok. I read recently that there’s forced labor of children ages 13-16, and certain ethnic groups are being forced into labor in China. That’s what concerned me. Maybe that information is inaccurate?
There are reports of that. I just read an article on a .gov site about it a few minutes ago. Not sure how widespread it is.
