Have SSRI's made you gain much weight?

Has anyone experienced weight gain on these? I take Sertraline (Zoloft) now for 4 weeks, and my weight has gone up marginally, but I am not going to let it go too far if it tries to make me put much more on.

I gain more weight when I’m off SSRI’s than when I’m on them. Depression makes me eat.

i didn’t experience weight gain on sertraline. I take 50mg sertraline per day

I feel 50mg is working, but the psychiatrist wants me to go up to 100 mg

Just contacted there GP and asked for 50mg tablets instead of 100.

My depressive state seems to have subsided now, and I am feeling a bit more positive.

Granted I have not worked much so far this year due to this depression I have had post-Christmas, but I feel so much better now

I didn’t find I was eating much, but I was pretty much sleeping a lot

ah yea if it’s working then i’d stay on the 50mg too… but if your doc thinks 100mg is better i’d give it a try

I’ve increased to 150 and feeling much better.

Typically, we like to leave inactive threads alone and just start a new thread instead. This is different than how some forums are run, but we do it this way because it frequently upsets users to have old topics revived when they are no longer relevant.
