I’ve mentioned before, I can’t stand this expression. It’s like you’re being encouraged to have a good bowel movement or somethin.
Is this only a Canadian saying, or do other countries use this term as well?

Don’t stress it man
I can’t stand when i am told to “enjoy”.
This is a very australian phrase as well.
That’s used in the UK too
It’s an American thing as well.
I’m not particularly fond of it either
I use it a lot on facebook. I usually add have a good day or similar but do use have a good one.
In my book it’s a way to refer to the person as enjoying pleasuring themselves once their gone
Find it quite the insulting way to say goodbye
This is exactly what I mean by it.
In norwegian, instead of goodbye, people say “ha det bra” which directly translates to “have it good” or “feel good” and is used as well wishes. As in “I hope the rest of your day goes well, goodbye”
I dunno about you but I encourage everyone I meet to have a bowel movement. A lil nudge goes a long way
Dont have a good one. Have a great one
We use that here in Arkansas USA. It means enjoy your birthday, anniversary, vacation, holiday, weekend, and such.
Sounds like an Asian massage parlor with a happy ending.
Who doesnt like a little encouragement, right?!
I’d generally assumed they were talking about your day, but now I’m not sure…………
And before that there going “Hellooooooo handsome man! You want?”
And you reply “I want what every man wants. I just want it more.”
Then you continue past them to dairy queen for a chocolate milkshake
Yup they say it here in the states as well
For me I usually say ‘keep having fun’ or ‘have a good night ladies’
Blehhhh
I don’t know why but I find myself saying crap like that at work
To me ‘have a good one’ sounds like picking a huge booger from your nose
I always thought it was a stoner expression from the 1970’s that made it to mainstream use. All the cool stoners used to say it back in the day and that’s what it reminds me of when someone says it to me now.
It’s nice when you get a good one.
