I was panicked this afternoon as my phone seems broken. When I got home with the lights out, I could just barely see the display. Under Settings the display brightness was set to zero. I turned it up to 50% and everything was fine. Did someone hack my phone and turn off the display? I know I didn’t do it.
You might have accidentally lowered it yourself. Some phones have the brightness slider in the notification area.
