Has anyone played Hellblade: Senua's sacrifice?

So i think this thread and game is relevant in case you thought this was just another random video game thing.
This game is a work of art and very respectful towards people with schizophrenia or psychosis in general in my opinion.
So you play as an ancient Celtic warrior woman with psychosis who travels to the norse lands to (she believes) retreive the soul of her lover who was killed by vikings. Its best with headphones because throughout the game you can hear her hallucination voices speaking to her a lot. She believes shes been cursed with ‘the darkness’ as she calls it. But its actually schizophrenia. She is plagued by visual hallucinations and delusions too. Its so dark and epic. The developers worked with a lot of people who have expereinced psychosis and also mental health professinals. I wouldnt recommend the game for those who are in the midst of an episode themselves but its great if your stable or just someone who wants to step into the shoes of someone with sz in ancient times. Cool action and fighting too. And the music score is pretty awesome at pivotal moments.
Anyone else played Hellblade Senuas sacrifice?

Sounds like a decent game. It’s with the game pass so I might play it tomorrow or the day after on Series X.

I played it a couple of years ago…very dark game but very realistic when it comes to how psychosis feels. I wasn’t able to make much progress in the game.

Yes I played it but didn’t finish it. I got bored of it.

It’s a cool game with great graphics though.

Yeah the theme is a bit repetitive. I think you need to be an ancient european pagan history nerd with sz like me to love it enough to finish it for some people.

Thats cool. You’d probably hate souls-like games then hay haha. I love them but they also drive me crazy with how hard they are.

i actually love souls-likes but it was years before i ever tried one when i played hellblade. maybe my grasp of the mechanics was lacking but also I played using a cloud game streaming service so maybe latency and my unstable wifi played a part
