So I found out at the end of my shift today that I completed the phase 2 training, which normally takes 2 weeks, in 3 days!!! My trainer said I’m doing a great job!
I’m still very nervous and have tons to learn. But it felt good to hear that
I get to spend all of next week doing repetition of all I’ve learned and I’m very grateful for that
Tomorrow I learn one last thing and that’s it until the week after next.
I want to do well and make a good impression. I’m giving it my all
Congratulations, but also, be wary. That is a significant time difference. Was the training program a series of clear modules that you just completed quickly, or was it a more of a “we’ll show you the ropes, and after you’re ready we will put you in” thing? It might just be that they need someone on shift so they cut your training short.
I start Phase 3 of training the week after next week. Phase 3 lasts 6 weeks.
Then I have an additional 90 days to work on all my job duties and study the employee manual, my workbook, and all the computer files on policies, forms, and procedures.
When those 90 days are up, I take a final exam. If I pass, I’m a full fledged employee and can request full time status/hours.
I’m feeling less confident today because I’m not remembering everything well yet. But I’ve taken lots of notes so I can study over the weekend and type out my notes neatly
Hey, you’ve learned a lot in a short amount of time. It’d be hard for anyone to remember so much that quick. Give yourself some grace, you’re rocking it. Keep studying and you’ll do fine.
