Got a bug bite

Or something… It’s looking pretty gnarly for being two days old.

It doesn’t hurt or itch… but it looks like a bad fire ant bite. Has the raised yellow pimple looking thing in the middle. Then a ring of normal colored skin… and the a very dark purple ring about a quarter in size.

I had no symptoms of it being venomous… Just noticed in the shower yesterday morning. Now it’s just darker in color.

That sound familiar to anyone? I’ll be scheduling an appointment with my GP in the morning… and if it starts looking like a brown recluse bite I’ll hit up the Urgent Care Center.

@Azley I don’t want to worry you, but it could be a mrsa infection. In it’s initial stages, It can often be mistaken for a spider bite. I would recommend contacting your GP first thing in the morning and ask them to take a look at it. If your GP thinks it’s warranted, they can run a culture to check for mrsa and start you on antibiotics.

I would also recommend that you take your temperature to see whether you have a fever.

It hasn’t gotten any worse today. the first available appointment was monday… but I’ll check into urgent care if it develops.

I do remember a situation that may have led to a bruise in that area… had to clamber around a table at work…

It kinda sounded familiar, so I googled some images for, Lyme disease bite. You might give those images a look.
