Good posters come go... It's sad

I’ve been on this forum for just over six years now.

I have seen excellent contributors come and I saw them go without ever returning. Some do return.

I wish you all would stay longer cause it makes everybody on the forum feel so warm and welcome

I wish I could bring more value but my cognition just don’t allow me.

Thanks to everyone who is currently bringing so much to the forum. From the veterans to the newbies.

I have been on this forum for five years since last September. I changed my name back when I was paranoid my brother-in-law was reading my posts. I’ve since had a med adjustment and am doing better now.

I’m so glad you’re back and that you’re doing better after the meds adjustment. Many thanks for your input on the forum.

I changed my name for a similar reason. My old handle was Zeke.

I think it’s pretty obvious by now that everyone thinks I’m THE GREATEST POSTER OF ALL TIME!!

But relax, I’m not going anywhere.

I’m happy you’re not leaving us @anon39054230.

Haha… I mostly do replies in the Say Anything section but I’m here pretty much daily. I tried to post once that I was taking a break but it didn’t pan out, now I have a “no ‘I’m leaving the forum’ posts” policy.

This is such a great board simply because it gets posts so frequently. Other mental health boards are so dead, they can take days to get a response when you post something. This one is designed very well with the likes and notifications systems, it’s really my favorite forum of all time. Not that I’ve frequented many forums over the years or anything, but still.

Hello @anon18305065 . It is the nature of online forums that the cast of users who use the forum is rotating.
Meaning that some leave, while others join . You may not like it, but that’s how the world works.

I agree with you but I’m leaning towards an ideal although I know it’s never gonna happen.

It always makes me sad when someone announces they are on an up streak and then disappear. I really want to hear their success stories but they are gone.

There were also a few times that people were really going in a bad direction, stated they were taking a break, and we’re never seen again. My heart goes out to those people, I hope they found their way back to recovery.

The ones I am most curious about were @SurprisedJ and @kidsister.

Surprisedj had such a great story and a good message and was a frequent poster. A really likable guy.
Kidsister was his little sister who had helped him. I always liked her; she was always respectful and was likable too. She wasn’t mentally ill but she sometimes asked for help and advice.

Then one day they just disappeared without a warning or explanation

@SurprisedJ and @Wave were some of the first people on this forum I chat with. I remember @kidsister very well.

How about that spoon thing? That was kind of cute and funny.

I can’t recall that. Maybe you can refresh my mind.

One thing I remember about Surprise was the piece of metal he kept in his pocket wich had “Coincidence” engraved on it.

Kidsister had a spoon collection. I mean she was really into spoons and would steal them from restaurants.

I did a search and just came up with a thread from her… “Confessions of a spoon thief”… It’s quite lengthy, I’ll read it tomorrow.

Yep, I remember that.
