As a feminist, make-up seems to be a rigid requirement of women and only women to do it or otherwise they’re “not normal.” Knowing that, I wear make up to infiltrate the normal world. Seriously, I only do it to present myself a certain normal way and to not stand out. Been doing it since I started to get better. Also did it while actively psychotic a decade ago, but that was to distract people from the crazy eye thing and make them think it was just pretty eyes lol.
I put on eyeliner below and above my eyes. I put on eyeshadow and curl my eyelashes and put on mascara. Some bold red lipstick on my lips. Scented body lotion.
You’d be surprised how frequently people make snap judgments about how normal someone is based solely on how they present the first few seconds.
Other than playing normal, I might put some on to take a profile pic for fb or when I’m drunk and then it seems like a fun idea, but aside from that I pretty much don’t care about make up. Well…except for eye liner. Eye liner is like my little war paint in some weird way, like stare into my eyes! Stare into my well lined eyes!
