I feel very accomplished today! I went and got some overdue blood tests done, scheduled an oil change for my car, called in a refill for one of my prescriptions, went shopping for milk and coffee, and tomorrow I’ll be able to start a costuming commission! I hope I can keep up this level of productivity, on Thursday I have a consultation for another commission, plus I have my own stuff to make, so I’ll be pretty busy for the next few weeks!
RIght on!! Maybe I’ll get my act together, I need some motivation my gf is going to make a dr apt with the chiropractor because he back keeps going out…I’m really worried about her sometimes.
Very cool @RowanAmethyst - Getting things done feels good! I did some food shopping this morning - felt good
So far I have 3 tunics, 3 pairs of pants, 2 apron dresses and 2 kirtles (a sort of underdress) to make. The dresses are mine, the rest is for customers.
And I just cleaned off my sewing table, I had been using it for some other projects but it’s time to get ready for sewing!
I walked to the store to buy smokes. It was funny, I met my old payee there. We awkwardly tried to ignore each other and didn’t say a thing to each other as we stood a foot apart waiting in line at the checkout. I hate that woman.
And now I just ordered business cards! And later I might go out and buy some notions at the fabric store. And then spend some time with friends and boyfriend. And go out for dinner. I am on a roll! Here’s hoping I don’t burn out!
Truth? Haven’t even brushed the fangs yet…I’m sort of a wreck.
I have been so distracted by new Android cell phone that I didn’t get much done today. I am going to an orientation about a work program tomorrow though. So much for carpe diem!
Don’t neglect to give yourself a reward for accomplishing so much.
Good for you…
Yeah good job Rowan!
Yes, treat yourself to something. How about a chocolate milkshake?
I’m keeping to a diet, but honestly, getting to work on my own projects is a sort of reward all it’s own. I get to play around and make pretty things!
I need to unload my sewing table. That’s a good first step. Since I’ve had it I keep things there out of the cleaning ladies way. I’m running out of clothes to wear.
My cleaning is going well today. Not too much pressure on myself - sorting books to get rid of -
And I might be getting another big commission! Someone I know from a trans support group wants some Victorian stuff, a corset and skirt, all fancy and stuff. Getting her measurements will be tricky, though. Oh well, it’ll be a fun challenge!
That’s a good way to look at it.
I try not to let myself get too overwhelmed. I try to plan out my moves ahead of time so I know what I’m doing, which bothers my mother somewhat because I’ll just go through the steps to something I need to do, in exhaustive detail. It helps me concentrate to say it out loud to someone, though.
If I get this commission, it’ll be the most complicated piece I’ve ever done, but I feel up to it. I’ve been feeling pretty good about my abilities lately!
Good luck Rowan.
I picture you sewing into the night.
