Gas prices

Mississippi has the nations lowest gas prices at $2.93 per gallon. Here in California the cheapest gas station near me sells gas for $4.39.

My tank holds 13 gallons. So in comparison, to fill up my tank in California is $58 while in Mississippi it costs $38. I fill up my tank twice a month so I’m paying $40 more a month than if I was in Mississippi. That means I pay nearly $500 a year more in gas. It doesn’t seem fair but there you go.

Most areas of California have a high cost of living.

People also have higher wages on average in California than other states. I would look at this way. You have higher wages in California. the cost of living is also higher in California, but on like non area specific goods…like for example buying on Amazon, you would have the same prices as a person living in mississipi. When the person in california might be making double the wage. So, what’s really fair?

thats lame for people like us tho on fixed incomes stipulated and provided by the federal government

lol i live in the other rich C state and i know if I all of a sudden didn’t have my parents to help support me…im moving to a different state… :peace_symbol:

i read once in the past that connecticut had the lowest amount of schizophrenics in the country of any state despite the best mental health care…It made sense to me…despite not making any sense.

hope that rings true to reality

or id just try to be happy and homeless probably

Idk, housing is outrageous here. I want to live in a studio but the average rent here is about $870 a month. There are a few outliers for $650 or $700 but they get snapped up quick and you’re lucky if they have an open waitlist.

Many are moving to other states because they can’t afford it in California.

Yeah, housing is a real issue there.

To be honest, I would never live in California. I dont care how good the weather is supposed to be.

Thier economy is all out of wack, IMO.

A lot of the final price is state taxes.

$1.55 CDN/litre where I live. I’m lucky, it’s close to $2.00/litre one province over.

Cant we produce our own gas by farting in the gas tank?

The weather is NOT as good as people try to say lol, the summers are insane, the heat could bake you  And I swear we had the first real winter this year, it was freezing, but then again I’m used to the heat so 70 degrees is cold to me.

I don’t even look at how much it is. I have to buy it either way. :hamster::hamster::hamster:

Yeah, I used to be like that. But now, if you fill up your tank the difference between an expensive gas station and a cheap one can be $6 or $7. When I need gas I look at gas buddy and find the top ten cheapest gas stations in my area and go to the cheapest.

Right now, the gas stations that are two minutes from my house are $5.19 per gallon. To fill up at those would be $67. If I drive to the cheap gas station ten minutes away it’s $4.39 a gallon and to fill up would be $57!
