What do you think of this? Has anyone known or tried this?
@SzAdmin can you please do some research on it if it hasn’t already been done?
I agree with a lot of this. For example I think there’s probably a difference in the structural manifestations of people with sz between those whose are substance induced versus those with genetic predispositions. I wonder if there’s a difference also in people depending on the age of onset and so on. I just wish I lived 100 to 200 years in the future when there’s probably a drug cocktail that treats the estrogen or glutamate issues with maybe a more effective d2 blocker instead of the hit or miss of a mess we have nowadays. For example I’m sure raloxifene works for a lot of people bc it’s a SERM or whatever they call it, just like glutamate issues are sometimes solved with memantine. But the biggest takeaway I think is that there are a lot of variations in schizophrenia, which I always thought.
This one talks about a new discovery in treating SZ
Glad we have something in common. I didn’t understand the technical part of it but understood that their research is going to see some breakthrough in the years to come.
3rd video is good havnt seen that one before, explains allot.
@far_cry0 take a look at this bhai!!
The oestrogenic model of sz doesnt sound that promising to be honest. So raloxifene, not sure about that.
The research is under progress and they have seen some breakthrough in the last couple of years… so hoping for the best.
she is trying to solve the problem and so far has some success in improving memory and cognition. That is good news. Good news its on going and we can expect better treatments coming out of it in next 5 to 7 years. Meanwhile research can be used in other approaches as well.
I’ve got my first bottle of Ralixofene or placebo. Starting this Monday or Tuesday… no side-effects placebo, side-effects means I got the real deal
Let us know how u are doing?!
What side effects have they mentioned you might have?
Per my understanding this does not help with positive symptoms. Just works on improving memory and cognition.
@GentleSoul I will. @twinklestars the most serious side-effects are blood-cloths resulting (in the worst case) into cerebral infarction… it’s serious but 1% though… other (mild) side-effects I can expect are headache, high blood pressure, moisture retention in the limbs. @NewHope from my understanding and the news I have read, Ralixofene (can) tackle positive, negative and cognitive symptoms. I’m not bothered much by positives, but (depression) negatives and cognitive are my main symptoms.
Blood clots sound pretty serious. Although to be fair that’s a potential side effect of birth control too, so I guess it makes sense. Can they monitor you for that?
Nope… although I’m insured due to the participation to the study… I’m also volunteering to be in that study and have to call my doc/pdoc when I experience a serious side-effect. My next appointment is over 3/6 weeks.
Are you participating in the study conducted by Prof Cyndi Shannon Weickert??
No, this study is done by Dutch researchers. The study takes 3 months with a total of 150 participants. Study ends all the way in 2020.
I hope I’ve got the real deal. If not I’ll probably will purchase Raloxifene from a online pharmacy and run my own “study”.
