Found my neighbour on the floor at 3:45am this morning

I woke up early hours of the morning and heard my neighbour yelling for help.

I managed to get in his house and he was on the floor slurring his words. Said he had fallen hours and hours ago.

I called an ambulance. The state of the house is horrific and I almost threw up cos of the smell.

It appears he had a mild stroke but I don’t know for sure yet.

I’m trying to contact tue hospital he is at currently to try and get him some support for when he comes home. Cos he can’t continue to live this way.

@Jonathan2 im worried one day I will find him dead in the house. I’m quite fond of him in a way and I really don’t want that to happen.

I understand but some things are beyond our control.

Woa. Well done on getting them to hospital. There’s only so much you can do though.

Just been down to the hospital to see him. Felt so bad leaving. They are trying to get to the bottom of what’s
Going on with him.

He has agreed for support to be put in place before he comes home.

That is so nice and kind for you to help out your neighbor in a serious emergency. We have neighbors like you in Florida. They offer to help out in emergency’s and cook meals and take us to the airport and things. My dad is in the hospital now and they say he has to go to a rehabilitation facility before he comes home. But they did find a kidney infection in him and possible pneumonia. Things like this happen all of the sudden. My dad was fine then I came up stairs and he was shaking and so weak he could not walk. all of the sudden out of nowhere this happened. Had to call an ambulance and he had a fever of 105 hiding deep in his body. It is good you heard your neighbor and could get into his place. My dad said the doctors at the hospital said my dads condition could have become fatal also without proper and quick treatment. The ambulance people did not even want to take him to the hospital. We had to insist.

Wow, Qwerty. You sound like the best neighbor ever. It could have been so much worse without you there. And you’re making sure he’s taken care of after? That’s incredible.

Thanks guys. I’m not the best neighbour I’m sure as a family we make a lot of noise haha but most the neighbours around here are lovely and all look out for one another which is nice. It’s a sense of community.

Thanks everyone. It’s been a hectic few days. My neighbour doesn’t have any family. Only the help from neighbours (mostly me)

He has a lot of animals. And at the moment he can’t even walk a few feet.

We are talking chicken pens out in the back full of chickens. An Avery with budgies in. Dog. Cat. Parrot.

I went to the hospital yesterday to gently discuss the rehoming of his animals (birds) in the back garden. He has agreed and was relieved I brought it up.

So I’m organising and making phone callls now for them to be rehomed.

I really don’t want him to loose his dog or cat or parrot (which we are taking care of at the moment) as they are very attached to him.

It’s been a hectic few days.

Me and my partner don’t work. So we do have some time to sort all this out. Most the neighbours around here either work or are elderly.

But I do have a house to run. So it’s key that before he is discharged support for him is put in place.
