For those of you that are successful in life, what do you put it down to

I have a successful life I am married with adult boy and girl who have children. I own my home and I have a new car. My wife is still working and my belief that God is watching over me and that he helped me not to get into serious mishaps. I would like to still know what happened to me The doctor says that they can’t do anything for me as everything bothers me. I feel that is not true. I want to live a good life but I can’t find a hobbie.

Well I agree that in everyday conversation with people I try to not mention politics. However a lot of times I open my mouth and say what I think. I do agree that it would be better not to mention it as people of the opposite viewpoint may discriminate against you for it. However this is a forum and every once in a while I may pepper in my political beliefs here and there.

Actually that blog isn’t too wacky; there’s a lot of sound ideas in it.

One thing I have learned from my adventure is that it’s normal to be kinda crazy; ie: having strange ideas centered around reality/existence, venting anger through hostile/violent imaginings, etc AND we’re actually a few steps more ahead of the game than ‘normal’ people because we’re consciously aware of our pondering/hostility enough to be worried about dwelling on it too often; realizing the risk of passionately dwelling on those thoughts.

Supportive family. Medication. Plenty of good mental health resources where I live. Luck. Hard work. NO DRUGS OR DRINKING. Letting people help me and doing my part by helping myself. Taking risks. People seem to like me. I’m looking back on my life (I’m 55 now) and I’m realizing that I that a lot of the people in my past life who I always thought didn’t like me or hated me actually probably didn’t hate me or dislike me.

Some luck. Going to a state university. (Cheaper). Graduating from college. Joining the military after college. Always investing my money in the stock market. Always paying off my credit card bills in full each month. Never spending more money than I can afford. Buying three houses in my lifetime. Renting out my houses when I am not living in them. Hiring real estate management companies to find tenants for my rental properties. Always attending schools all my life to keep learning. (Knowledge always comes in handy). Dollar cost averaging when investing. Staying out of debt. Staying unmarried. (And avoiding spouses debt accumulation). Only having one child. (And avoiding the costs of raising many children). Never doing much drugs or drinking. Always tithe to the Church and give to charity.
