For concert/festival goers, your five favorite bands to see live

I’ve seen a couple threads on top 5 lists regarding bands, and taking in live music is my favorite hobby, so I made this one.

  1. Avatar
  2. Mushroomhead
  3. A Killer’s Confession
  4. Static X
  5. Gwar

Last time I saw Avatar, a couple years ago, they performed for two hours, crazy. I’ve seen them twice, hope to see them again this November.

Mushroomhead was my favorite band for a long time, but they’ve had so many lineup changes that it’s become like watching a Mushroomhead cover band, though they still put on an incredible show. I’ve seen them around 15-20 times, more than any other band, most recently last month, and hopefully again in October.

A Killer’s Confession is fronted by a former Mushroomhead vocalist, and also now includes two other former Mushroomhead members. Seen them 9 times, most recently a couple weeks ago.

Static X’s original vocalist died (OD) in 2014, but they still put on a fun, high energy show. Seen them 5 times, including a couple weeks ago.

Gwar, ■■■■, what can I say? Been around 40 years, the music itself is nothing great, but their live show is an absolute hoot. It’s all about the stage show with Gwar, legendary. Seen them twice, most recently a couple weeks ago. Lol same concert as AKC and Static X. Having those three bands, as well as Dope, in one night made for an epic concert :sign_of_the_horns::sign_of_the_horns:.

Lol I meant this to be a lot shorter. I’m very quiet in person, never much to say, but I sure talk a lot when I’m typing.

It occurs to me that there probably are not many people on here who go to concerts and festivals like I do. Oh well. I know @Lunanoir does.

Id have to say judas preist and ozzy in summer of 2007 in calgary it was ozfest

I was into Static X for a while

R.E.M was good, so was Pink Floyd.
Led Zeppelin was good.
Bruce Springsteen was the best, in fact, the 1978 concert I saw at Winterland on the Darkness tour was called his best concert ever by many people.
The Rolling Stones put on a good show in 1978 on the Some Girls tour.

Paul Simon was great, saw him twice. Once, opening for Bob Dylan, and the other time at the casino. Also The Police on their reunion tour in 2007. Sting’s voice hasn’t changed one bit.

My favorite band I’ve seen was Styxx. I saw them twice.

I would love to see Pink Floyd with all the original band members. That would be fa.

I saw Guns and Roses.

I’d love to see Santana for real!! That would be the highlight of my life!

The original band Journey would be another dream concert for me to witness, absolutely!

I saw Santana with Eddie Money and Peter Tosh when they all opened for The Rolling Stones in 1978. It was pretty good.

@SkinnyMe I saw Journey !! I saw Styx back in the eighties too…I’ll trade you Guns ‘n’ Roses for Journey thouigh…wow.

Metallica and black sabbath were my childhood heros

Liked Soundgarden live. Motörhead we brilliant as well

Wish I had seen Linkin park before Chester died. No idea how I missed them as been to a lot of festivals

I love both Metallica and Soundgarden. I don’t know how I could have missed seeing them all my life.

I went to a gig in London in 2014 I think

Line up was Soundgarden, Motörhead and black sabbath

The tickets were really reasonable

Wanted to go to a concert in July with black sabbath Metallica and others. Too expensive but it seems they’re selling a pay per view option to see it on tv

I remember running around festivals as a boy. Our parents used to take me and my brother. More recently I’ve seen Primal Scream, the Darkness and Supergrass headline a festival.
