I love flapjacks too. I use to make them myself until the realisation of diabetes. I hate porridge but love the oats with a few currants. I added coconut too. Those were the days before the dreaded Type 2…

I think in Australia the nearest things are called Anzac biscuits (according to @anon84763962)

I concur good Sir, I believe Anzac Biscuits are the Aussie equivalent of the flapjack. I’d have to compare recipes to be sure, but I have no motivation to do that at the present.

Thing is flapjacks are quite soft and moist. Is this true of said Anzac biscuits or are they more crunchy? For the sake of the forum we have to get to the bottom of this!

I think there’s golden syrup in anzac biscuits too.

Good anzac bikkies are soft and chewy. But the ones you buy prepackaged are usually tough as rocks, but good for dunking to soften them up.

Home made are the best, can’t go past a good anzac bikkie.
