are not effective at all IMO. I don’t know about the rest of you but when I see a post that is hidden and says “this post has been flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden” it just makes me want to click on and view it that much more. As a matter of fact I am much more likely to skip over a non flagged post than I am a flagged post. I just have to see what was so offensive. The only reason it’s effective to flag at all is to get the mods attention imo. Anyone else always view flagged content?

We can see that action has been taken but can still read it.
I mean I see your point but I would feel cheated if flagging something effectively deleted it. I generally don’t like stuff that silences people.

I can easily imagine there being a lot of people here who do not look at them, considering how many encounters I’ve had with overly sensitive, and conformist types. Anyone who thinks the internet should be policed should not be allowed on the internet, it’s not for them.
There’s nothing stopping you from starting your own free forum if you don’t like the rules of this community.
Adorable, but I like it here regardless. Guess you’ll have to put up with me, like I have to put up with others here too. Too bad your bullying doesn’t effect me. Though I see it works on others for you. You can always try them again, if you find my response unsatisfactory.

Alright, you two. Knock it off.
The reason we “police” is simple. To make a safe place to share symptoms s and receive support. There’s no other place that is just like this. People feel safe.
We also have to police due to trolls that will actively try to get people to commit suicide. We have a troll that likes to try to get back on with a history of that.

No. It isn’t anyone you know. They’ve been banned a long time, but every few months they try to get back in. The write nasty posts to the staff and post porno pics.
Really, you guys have no idea the stuff we see behind the scenes. If we didn’t moderate this place would be a sh1tshow.

You won’t see them. We have to approve new user posts. If someone gets through, though, you might see a porno meme or a nasty post to one of us mods. They’re pretty chill for a day or so, then slip into old behavior.
