celebrating five years of no psychosis
If my psychosis stopped I’d be celebrating every day until I’m a fat drunkard.
Very happy for you.
Good for you @anon80629714 this is a big deal.
Except for my my rapid mood shifts and anxiety and panic, i have not been actively psychotic in many years - I would say more than 7 years or so, it is possible.
I do credit the fact that I take Risperdal - it seems to keep my psychosis away
I’d say my moods have been more difficult to handle… sometimes I feel is it really schiz?
I dont know you well, but from what you write here, it does sound like you could be suffering from some form of mood disorder like me - there is a very fine line between bipolar disorder and schizoaffective disorder.
The important thing is that your symptoms are basically under control.
I suffer from mainly mood symptoms, but do have some well defined SZ symptoms as well - to Hell with the labels
@anon80629714 I can really relate to a lot of what you say. I question the fact that I am schizophrenic all the time. I am free from psychosis most of the time except for when I try and get off my medicine. After about a day with no medicine I lose my ability to concentrate and I start seeing things like a doily on the table floating across the table or the grass swaying in the yard but there is no wind. My concrete garage floor looks like the ocean to me when I am like this too. I just don’t know if its me coming off the medicine or if my symptoms return when I stop taking my medicine. The furthest I went without medicine was 2 days. I just had too many problems so I went back on them. My pdoc tells me to stay on the medicine but I am curious how it would be off the medicine. I cant explain what happened to me from age 21 to about 36 but it was something and it pretty much ruined my life. Im 38 now btw. Anyways, just thought I would share.
