Just thought I’d share that all this extra fitness work I’ve been doing has paid off. First game of cricket today and it was a bit of a mixed bag. We fielded first and I ended up dropping two catches…one of them easy as…so was pretty pissed about that.
Ended up having to face an hour of bowling at the end. We bowled them out for 264 or so…So had basically an hour against their quicks. Batted really well. First scoring shot was a boundary which was almost a six. One quick was good…knew what he was doing but on synthetic he tried to bounce me…boundary! I can still hook and pull with the best of them…
So…couple of dud shots and got dropped by the same guy twice in slip but I’m alive next weekend. I’m 21 or so not out and aiming for a much better return…
Bet I’ll be sore tomorrow!
