The party is just starting in Helsinki and elsewhere in Finland. Hyvä Suomi (Finland).
Finland’s lions beat Russia’s bear 2-1.
We went to tori to celebrate at 9:30 am (not in Helsinki).
There were like 15 people there
Great match, very exciting.
In Helsinki there is a great party.
This is the first time in the history of Finland when Finland won Olympic gold in ice hockey. Hyvä Suomi.
There will be a great people’s party at the Olympic stadium in Helsinki tomorrow.
You’re team won ! Hooray
!!!
I didn’t watch it. Did the US compete also?
Also I think @FatMama is a hockey fan.
Well done Finland
Our team was embarrassed this year, but it’s their own fault from the looks of it. Pride goeth before the fall, etc.
I didn’t know that. @mjseu sent the link to the hockey teams and their performance but for some reason I can’t pull it up. Anyway. I have a Roku box (no cable). I’m sure there’s a way to watch the Olympics on it but idk how and don’t care enough about it. I do like figure skating though
Too many Canadians behave like the sport belongs to us.
When I think of Finland I think of ice so I would think that hockey belongs to Canada and Finland. But yeah Canada may have gotten a bit arrogant.
Reminds me of that movie Cool Runnings a true story about a Jamaican bob sled team. I don’t remember if they won but they did make it into the Winter Olympics
Eh, if you make it somewhere that everyone told you that would not ever be possible, you already have won so hard you have the cake AND the icing. A medal is just a few more sprinkles on top at that point.
I wish I was able to go celebrate in Helsinki. But the tickets to the celebration tomorrow is sold out. The celebration here where I live, a smaller city in Finland, was pretty lame. Some guy was furious though and they had to call the police. Even our lame celebration made somebody feel miserable (Mielensäpahoittaja)
