Finished Painting

The painting is finished. I hope my friend who commissioned it likes it. I sent her pictures but haven’t heard from her yet. We’ll see.

It’s breathtaking!

It reminds me of a woman struggling…struggling to just finally be herself…

Thank you, @anon39054230. My god you’re perceptive, that’s exactly what it’s about. The tree is my friend who commissioned the painting. I haven’t heard from her whether she likes it or not.

I am a painter too and am really trying to find the motivation and energy to paint. This really inspires me. Was it oil you used or acrylics? How long did it take? I am working on one now. Been at it for 16hours but don’t like the way its turning out.

That is just beautiful. I thought it was great before the tree was added but this is amazing! Great job!

I use acrylics. I don’t have the patience for oils, and the quality of acrylics has improved tremendously.
It took me three weeks, working every few days and then every day in the last week. I struggled with this one because I let myself worry too much about whether the person who commissioned it would like it.
If you’re struggling, I recommend walking away from the painting for a day or so, until you know what to do next.
I hope you post a picture when you’re done!
